Montol 2015
The 2015 Montol Festival will be using Chapel Street as the venue for many of the day’s events. We’re really excited as this means that you can watch much of what is going on while enjoying a great selection of food and drink from the warmth of Blacks – ring side seats!
The main program can be found on the website www.montol.info but here’s a summary:
**New** 4pm Sundown Proclamation Procession. The members of the Guise Guilds and other costumed guisers will meet just after sun down at 4pm at the top of Causewayhead leading a procession to Chapel Street.
4.30pm – Programme of entertainment in Chapel Street. Including fire display from Circo Inferno and music from Dakka Doum and Land and See
5.40pm – Selection of the Lord of Misrule outside the Union Hotel
6pm Main Procession – On the stroke of 6pm the Raffidy Dumitz Band will lead the people of Penzance up through Causewayhead to the Princess May Recreation Ground for the Midwinter fire.
6.15pm – Midwinter fire at the Princess May Recreation Ground.
6.45pm Return procession finishing at the Ritz.
7pm The Montol Revels
From 7.15pm – The Guise Guilds.
From 7.30pm – Community celebration with entertainment at the Ritz.
7.30pm The choosing of the Master of the Splendid League of Physicians outside the Dolphin Tavern.
7.35pm The choosing of the Grand Vizier of the Noble Company of the Turk’s Head at the Turk’s Head.
7.40pm – The choosing of the Master of the Glorious Company of the Egyptian House at the Egyptian House.
8pm The Choosing of the Master of the Corn-Market at the Market House.
8.20pm The Choosing of the Master of the Melodious company of Peccadilloes at the Fountain Tavern.
From 8pm – Programme of Entertainment in Chapel Street.
10pm – Torchlit procession and chalking of the Mock

Opening Times at Blacks of Chapel Street Christmas 2015
We’ve been asked by many of you as to what our opening times will be over the Christmas and New Year. So here’s the plan –
Open every day up to and including Christmas Eve when we will be serving food during the day & evening.
Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Open the evening of Sunday 27th and then each day until New Year’s Eve, again we have a normal menu running for the day & evening.
Closed New Year’s Day.
Open Saturday 2nd up to and including Tuesday 5th January.
Closed from Wednesday 6th until Friday 15th January.
Resume normal hours of business from Saturday 16th January.
