New Opening Hours
From Sunday 9th April we will be open in the evenings for our selection of tasty dinners and decent drinks from around the world. The new opening hours mean that you have more chances to visit and enjoy the friendly atmosphere at Blacks of Chapel Street.
The opening hours are as follows:
Monday to Saturday – open from 10:30 for teas and coffees, the kitchen opens for food service from 11:00. Closed for a short break at 15:00 and then reopen for dinner service from 18:30 until late…
Sunday – open from 18:30 until late for dinner service.

Mother’s Day 2017
Blacks of Chapel Street will be open for Lunch and Evening food on Mother’s Day.
In addition to our regular tasty menu of local fresh food, we will be putting on a delicious Sunday Roast of either Beef or Pork served with all the trimmings – braised cabbage, mustard leeks, sage glazed carrots, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and of course, plenty of gravy!

Have you been wondering what’s going on underneath the covers at 12-13 Chapel Street? Not only is there a new roof being installed but the whole of the front of the property is undergoing a makeover in time for Spring.
All will be revealed in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime, our lovely landlady, Sarah, has taken some images of the work up on the roof which you might find of interest…

Individual Beef & Red Wine Pie
The kitchen team have excelled themselves today with the crafting of a delicious individual beef & red wine pie. The tasty dish has been complimented with roasted vegetables, buttered mash and a housemade jus that sets it off perfectly.
So if you are looking for a freshly made and filling meal to keep yourself content and warm this February, come down to Blacks of Chapel Street.

We’re not really expecting a White Christmas at Blacks of Chapel Street even though the wonderful Snow Elves story-telling team bring their own snow showers! But whatever ‘Storm Barbara’ may bring our way we are open today and tomorrow to serve you a delicious selection of warming drinks and energy boosting cakes to keep you going until Christmas Day.
So if you are in town looking for that last minute gift or the brandy butter sauce that you forgot for the pudding, why not pop into Blacks and chill out in the warmth with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie?

Winter Opening Hours
A quick update on our Winter opening hours – by popular demand we are open for food and drinks this evening – Sunday 11th of December from 6pm – so if you are looking for a small, friendly bar and dining room to sit in and enjoy a glass of mulled wine by the fire then come on down, we’ll be delighted to see you.
All our delicious Fat Roc coffee drinks and Novus teas are not only available for you to have at Blacks of Chapel Street, but we can serve them in takeaway format as well. So why not grab a hot drink and take it with you to your next destination?
