With only a few days to go in 2016, we’re preparing for an evening of great food, drinks and chilling by the fire at Blacks.
This year the emphasis is on relaxing with a range of mouth-watering meals using locally sourced ingredients including porterhouse steak, lobster and stuffed jumbo flat fish to share or individual cuts of fillet, rib eye, rump and local fish dishes to set you up for 2017 (don’t worry, vegetarian dishes are available as well).
The full menu is available to view on our website navigation but please don’t hesitate to contact us if you want to find out more and book a table.
There’s plenty on in Penzance for New Year’s Eve, so if you want to eat earlier and then head on to a party – for example at the Turk’s Head or Final Night of the Ritz – then we are open from 1730 – don’t forget to book a table to be sure!

Castelnau Champagne
Castelnau Champagne at Blacks of Chapel Street
We have spent quite a bit of time studying sparkling wines for serving at Blacks, and when it comes to an offering from the Champagne region we are really pleased to be able to stock two delightful offerings from the small family business ‘Castelnau’.
Their story is worth reading, the Champagne house of de Castelnau was founded in 1916 and named in honour of General Eduard de Curières de Castelnau. It swiftly made its reputation during the First World War and now nearly 100 years later we think it is a really great tasting and affordable bottle. So why not come and try some for yourself – we have both the Brut Reserve and the Brut Rose in stock, chilled and ready to serve.
