Timing is everything… In 2019 Valentine’s Day falls on a Thursday so to give all you incurable romantics the chance to impress your loved one (or even potential loved one) at the weekend we are extending the love and offering our Valentine’s menu at Blacks of Chapel Street from the 14th to Saturday the 16th of February.

A delicious and carefully created menu has been assembled under the careful eye of the Head Chef, Matt, who brings many years of experience in romance and food to the table…

Cornish seafood lovers to share

Scallop thermidor, mussels, crab pate, langoustines and rosemary skewered monkfish

Spinach, ricotta and sun blushed tomato roulade

Served with beetroot salad, toasted pine nuts and balsamic glaze

Chicken liver pate

Served with pickled vegetables and date and walnut toast

Carrot and coriander soup with parmesan croutons

Cornish fillet steak cooked to your liking in a rich red wine and mushroom sauce, dauphinoise potatoes and roasted vegetables

Prime Cornish sirloin steak

Wild mushrooms, roasted tomato ketchup, crispy shallots, rosemary & sea salt chunky chips and port thyme reduction

Smoked haddock fish cake

Served with salt and pepper squid, tartar sauce, pea velouté topped with watercress


Roasted asparagus, vine tomatoes, feta cheese, mixed dressed salad and sweet potato fries

Breast of Cornish chicken filled with wild mushrooms and garlic and herb cheese

Wrapped in filo pastry, wild mushroom and brandy sauce, dauphinoise potato and roasted vegetables

With fresh raspberries and burnt orange sauce
